Boston and Kansas City finish a three-game weekend series on Sunday. The two teams are headed in opposite directions and is a great opportunity for baseball bettors to cash in. The Red Sox won three straight during the week, beating Toronto and then defeating Atlanta in a two-game set.
Kansas City is in third place in the AL Central and sits 12.5 games behind first-place Chicago. The Royals were recently swept by Detroit and the Los Angeles Angels. A 6-1 win was the only Royals victory in a recent stretch of 12 games.
With Nathan Eovaldi going up against K.C.’s Brad Keller, there is value on the Red Sox.

Which Eovaldi Will We Get?
Eovaldi has been Boston’s best pitcher in 2021. He is 7-3 with a 3.76 ERA. The only bad start in his last five was in an 8-3 loss to Houston. Eovaldi gave up an uncharacteristic 11 hits and five earned runs in 5.1 innings.
His last start was a beauty. Eovaldi went 6.2 innings, gave up just three hits, and didn’t allow a single run. He also struck out four.
Eovaldi also has an FIP of just 2.66. That ranks seventh among all pitchers in MLB and means that Eovaldi is actually giving up fewer runs than 3.76 in situations that he can control. This will be his first start against Kansas City this season.
Our last time out, we had Suns +6.5 for our Suns at Lakers free pick. They won by 8! Go see what we said heading into Game 4.
Keller Getting Roughed Up
Eovaldi’s counterpart is the right-handed Keller, who has the most wins for the Royals with six but has an eye-popping 6.14 ERA. Keller’s last two starts have been rough, to say the least.
In a 6-1 loss to the Angels and a 10-3 defeat at the hands of the Tigers, Keller pitched 10.1 innings, gave up 16 hits and allowed 11 earned runs. His ERA for the month of June sits at 7.63.
That’s not good, especially when you will have to face one of the best hitting teams in all of baseball. Boston ranks in the top three in several offensive categories, including runs per game (5.06), batting average (.257), slugging percentage (.439), and on-base plus slugging percentage (.755).

Red Sox at Royals Free Pick
The Red Sox enter the series with the Royals having scored 10 runs in each of its past two games. Boston is 5-2 in its last seven games and in three of the wins the Red Sox posted double-digit run totals.
Boston is favored at -135 at the top MLB sportsbooks in Game 1 of the series with the total set at 9. The Red Sox will likely be favored on Sunday, especially with Eovaldi the starting pitcher.
With Eovaldi holding down a mediocre Royals lineup and Boston’s penchant for getting on base and scoring runs, the play on Sunday is on Boston on the run line. The Red Sox have the fourth-best ATS record in baseball and they are 22-10 ATS on the road.
MLB Red Sox at Royals Free Pick: RED SOX -1.5 down to -110
